Episode 119 is Online.

Episode 119 is about Hohocon -- specifically Hohocon '94, the last Hohocon and the only one I attended. Hohocon was a hacker conference that ran for 5 years in a row, from 1990 to 1994. It was put on by dFx, the Cult of the Dead Cow, and Phrack Magazine.

That was a great episode! I like the less written out, more off the cuff sounding shows

I'm glad you guys liked it. I was afraid it was a little "bland" and lack of exciting stories.

The fact that you actually were at a con with the LOD and CDC members is way cool in itself. Never gonna see the likes of them again.

I enjoyed this one a lot. It reminded me a lot of my first "hacker camp" in 1993 (Hacking at the End of the Universe, held at a very remote campsite in the Netherlands). Lots of parallels between the two events. Differences, too: US hacker meets seem to be more of the 'convention' type, Dutch hacker meets are more camping events. In 1993 Internet was new and gopher was the information servers protocol. I attended lectures on phone phreaking which told me stuff I only fully understood and appreciated less than a year ago!
A good episode of YDKF. You enabled the listener to get an idea of what hohocon '94 was like in general, how you experienced it and explained a lot of things making this accessible to listeners who haven't experienced hacker culture in the 90s. A big thumbs up from me!
