A long time ago I had this idea to replace letters with colors and make it into a picture. I could send the 8-bit picture to someone who could then decode the bits back into the message. Anyone intercepting the message would only see a picture and wouldn't even know it was a secret message. Of course I didn't have anyone to send secret messages to and not enough computer savvy to make it happen. So it never happened. But it was a fun thought experiment.

Yeah, there are all kinds of things you can do with graphic files, from hiding text in EXIF data to actually doing stuff with the pictures themselves. Like most things I think of, other people have already done it before I thought of it, and better than I could have.
