[STICKY] Mr. m00npie, reporter at large!

Mr. m00npie was getting bored by the lack of new posts lately, so he asked if I would set up this area for him. He has promised me that he'll scour the web looking for news stories about retro video games and vintage computers and post those stories here.

I have no idea how frequently or how much he'll post, so if I see a conversation getting buried I may move it to another forum (probably the gaming one).

Mr. m00npie also asked me to tell you all that if you have any good gaming news sites that have RSS feeds, add them to this thread and he'll check them out.

Yeah. He is checking his favorite sites once per hour, and may need to slow down a bit.

Right now Mr. m00npie is posting up to 3 posts each time he checks a feed. I think I'm going to ask him to lower that to one. He's a bit too efficient!

The service that reminds Mr. m00npie to post runs off of my own server, and since it was down, Mr. m00npie decided to use the time to hang out in United Airlines airport lounges and randomly insult employees. The server is (mostly) back in service and Mr. m00npie is on a bus home (he has been banned from all domestic airports) and will get back to work shortly.

m00npie is a little out of control. I tried deleting some of the posts and he just reposts them. I'll try and figure something out to slow his roll. He is a persistent banana, for sure.

Moonie has been prolific, that is for sure. Before you put him on this beat, I hadn't heard of the Digital Antiquarian. Now I am reading his blog as books on my Kindle Paperwhite--better than many of the formally published books on the topic(s) that I have read before. So, I will always be thankful to Mr. m00npie for pointing me in that direction, even if Mr. m00npie eventually gets taken off the beat for being too active.

I gotta figure out a way to slow m00npie down. This pace is killing me.

If I could figure out a way to automatically delete all the ZX Spectrum stories, I would do it in a heartbeat.

What sites are giving us the ZX Spectrum ones?

I think the Digital Antiquarian feed is a success. And there's some others that have been great, too.

I believe it's the "Vintage is the New Old" feed, which is a parent feed over the "Commodore is Awesome" feed. It contains a lot of good Commodore feeds, but... ugh, that Spectrum, man.
