I remember Choplifter for the great game it was.

But I also remember Choplifter in particular because it was the first time a friend of discovered disk editors and changed GAME OVER to FUCK !!!!

Because of the flag I always thought the base looked like a school. I used to pretend I was a flying school bus picking up kids in a war zone. Was this ever a cart? I seem to remember this being on a cartridge.

Indeed it was! Available on cartridge, cassette, and floppy diskette for the Commodore 64!
