Episode 138: Atari 2600

Post by Flack »

Episode 138 is Online.

You Don't Know Flack is back with another episode! In this episode, I wax nostalgic about my days with the Atari 2600. You'll get to hear about many of the games I grew up playing, whether or not I still collect Atari 2600 games, and why Keystone Kapers holds special meaning to me. Also in this episode I experimented with some noise cancelling plug-ins, so I'd love to hear what you think about that.

Because of this I downloaded Stella and gave my crystal classic USB joystick a workout. THANKS!

If anyone has the instructions for Indiana Jones let me know. I am so lost at this game.

Well, good news/bad news.

Good news, AtariAge.com has the manual for every Atari 2600 game online. Here's the page for Raiders of the Lost Ark -- just look for the "HTML Manual" link.

Bad news, Raiders of the Lost Ark requires two joysticks -- one to control Indy, and the other to manage your inventory.

No time for love, Dr. Jones.

I want you guys to see my web hits the day I released this episode.

The day I released this episode, over 6,000 people hit podcast.robohara.com. Not all of them downloaded the show, but a lot of them did.

So ... win?

You can use a USB joystick and the keyboard for the second joystick, I know it works in Mac.

What happened on the 19th of June last year that caused that huge spike? It looks like it was two days before you posted the Mr. Moonpie podcast. Was there some kind of Commodork review or something?

June 19, 2012 was OVGE.

I wish there was some rhyme or reason to web and podcast hits. I'll have one that goes through the roof and then the next one falls flat. Some of my episodes (like the NES one) did horrible and then the Ninja one went crazy.

Well, I think the fact that you've been doing them more often has had a big impact. Since you've been doing them regularly since January of this year, the average number of hits has gone up considerably. Five maybe even ten times the rate of previous years.
