Re: Commodork/Commodorkier to appear on StoryBundle
Flack, I know it was a long time ago, but did you ever try to get in touch with the English professor you had for the yearbook? Just wondering. It would have been kind of neat if you got in touch with her just to say you went back to school? I talk to her regularly through Facebook! A few months ag...

Re: Commodork/Commodorkier to appear on StoryBundle
Before going on the trip with my family, I had a bought a second hand black Tandy 286 laptop that ran MS-Dos 6.2 from Ebay. I had installed Windows 3.1 on it, along with an old version of Microsoft Works and copy of the telecommunications software for the modem. I guess it would have been nicer if ...

Re: YDKF Episode 185: My Current State of Affairs
My wife wants to put a pool in at the new house. At some point I should let you talk her out of it! The last house had five bedrooms, three living areas, and two home offices. The second home office (the one I used) was unfinished attic space that had been turned into a gigantic closet (10x10?) off ...

Re: YDKF Episode 185: My Current State of Affairs
This warms my heart. Scott Matteson told me one time that he listened to my shows while driving his bus around the Ohio airport, and even played it for his passengers. I've never been comfortable cussing on my shows, but I always try to remember that while recording. There are certain subjects that ...

Re: YDKF Episode 185: My Current State of Affairs
Thanks! I just finished recording a new episode of Sprite Castle. I've played around with different release days and times, but I think I'm going to schedule them to go live around midnight on Thursdays. That way it should show up in people's feeds Friday morning so they can listen to them at work, ...

Re: Multiple Sadness 009 – Velocipastor (2018)
I added it to the pile. Right now there are roughly a hundred movie titles in the pile and we're averaging one show every other month so I wouldn't hold your breath. It is a fun movie.

Re: Commodork/Commodorkier to appear on StoryBundle
Eh, mostly. In 2005, I was still chatting with many of the old tbh405 guys in IRC. 2005 predates the popularity of Facebook, but a lot of people were on MySpace, and people weren't as good at keeping their real names out of search engines. The harder part was finding people who wanted to talk about ...

Re: Commodork/Commodorkier to appear on StoryBundle
Great question! It's a companion piece to Commodork, so think of it as a "where are they now" piece that lines up chapter by chapter to the original. When it's done, I'll be providing free PDF copies to all members of The Gas Chamber. After the bundle ends, I'll be offering it as a PDF, pa...

Commodork/Commodorkier to appear on StoryBundle
The original version of Commodork, along with an all-new companion piece titled Commodorkier, have been selected to be part of a StoryBundle this April. For those unfamiliar with the site, StoryBundle allows people to pay what they want for a collection of DRM-free eBooks. After the StoryBundle camp...

Re: Suggestions/Feedback/Requests
I think Sean is planning a "general topic" episode next. Rise of Skywalker will definitely be one of the topics. We record around his schedule so I'm not sure when the next episode will be. January, I hope.

Re: The Terminator 1984
Vanity, Apollonia... I had a 50/50 shot. Terminator is definitely a sci-fi thriller -- I guess what I was trying to say was that it used the structure of a horror film. If you take the sci-fi stuff out of it, it's a horror film. With the sci-fi stuff in there, obviously it's a sci-fi film. The Clutt...

Re: Multiple Sadness 008 – Beware Children at Play (1989)
Thanks, guys. These are literally the only two pieces of feedback I got regarding this episode. There's another movie I'd like to cover eventually called Naked Space. It was also named Spaceship, and The Creature Wasn't Nice. Imagine if Alien were a comedy... yeah. It reminds me of Beware Children a...

Re: Coming back soon!!
I turned m00npie back on and he seems to have picked up a post that has since been deleted. The Throwback Network website got hacked so bad that we ended up shutting it down. Sean and I spoke this morning about recording a new episode soon. He's currently doing three other podcasts, plus running in/...

Re: The Collector of Collections
I spent the past week revisiting this project. My biggest concern is that it will be of interest only to people who know me. I need to rework some of the chapters so that they are less dry and more entertaining, and broaden their appeal. This will definitely be the next thing I self-publish.

The Human Library
For those of you who stop by the forum but haven't registered (and shame on you!) I recently finished a book titled The Human Library and have begun shopping it around to agents. Here is the blurb I typed up this morning to send to a potential agent. --- If you could bring any person back from the d...

Re: YDKF Episode 183: Music
I am like the girl that worked at the taco place and kind of just listened to what was on the radio. Well, that makes it official. We can never date. My friends in high school were into metal and hard rock so I was too. Then, when I went to college my best friend was into rap so I guess that meant ...

Re: YDKF Episode 183: Music
I try to keep YDKF PG most of the time (although it occasionally dips into PG-13 territory) but the term in "Don't Try Suicide" I asked my babysitter about was "prick teaser." My babysitter was 16, hot, and probably a prick teaser, so I don't think it embarrassed her. Here's a bl...

Re: YDKF Episode 183: Music
That's good to hear. I was afraid that too many music samples from bands people hadn't heard might be a turnoff.
