Re: Sprite Castle Plays (Videos)
Yeah, I would like to do more of those things in the future. Lots of people just play games, and that's okay (sometimes I do that, too) but there are a lot of utilities, demos, and other apps that haven't been well captured there.

Re: Sprite Castle Plays (Videos)
Thanks. It's really driving people to the podcast. Truth be told, they're more fun to create than the actual show.

Sprite Castle Plays (Videos)
A couple of months ago I started recording videos to go along with my podcast. Each video consists of me playing either a single game or a collection of themed games on the Commodore 64. I usually upload a new video every Wednesday, and I'll try to remember to update this thread when new ones go onl...

Re: YDKF Episode 191: Bicycles
There may have been. I grew up in a pretty blue collar, working class neighborhood, so it wasn't like if you had a no-name bike you were the odd man out... it was more like, the kids with the fancy bikes stood out. I think most of us had Road Masters or Huffy bikes. I looked up the blue and yellow b...

Re: YDKF Episode 190: Tron
There's a fun, magical age where kids' brains are like sponges. The things they take in at that time can stick with them for their entire lives. I wish I were talking about Tron, but in this case, I'm referring to Annie. Annie was a favorite of my sister's, and we had a VHS copy of it in the early/m...

Re: YDKF Episode 188: Karate
My high school offered a cornucopia of sports. We had football. We had basketball. We had wrestling. We had tennis. We had volleyball. We had track and field. I didn't do any of those things. I hate that you have to live in fear of re-opening your hernia, but after the multiple surgeries you have en...

I see that you left Commodork a 3/5 star rating on Amazon. If you didn't enjoy the original, I wouldn't recommend buying the sequel.

Re: YDKF Episode 188: Karate
Looking back, I think any sort of martial arts training takes away your ability (in a "real world" situation) to play lightly. I guess it's kind of like training military soldiers to shoot at people's torsos and heads, and then asking them why they didn't shoot somebody in the kneecap inst...

My parents love and support me, but I don't think they would listen to my podcasts, no. Or any podcasts. They're in their 70s.

Re: Sprite Castle's Flack plays Yie-Ar Kung Fu
I like the layout, very nice. I had it playing while I was working on something else, and I covered the youtube window with another program, and my daughter said "hey, I can't see him play the game." You have a new fan. :-) Thanks for keeping it family-friendly. I was really touched by th...

Sprite Castle Updates
Things have been changing faster than I can keep up with them over the past couple of days. Here are the highlights. 01. I've been extended an offer from Boat and Aaron to add Sprite Castle to their Amigos Retro Gaming network. Everything I'm doing with the Amigos will be above and beyond what I'm a...

Re: Those Kids Just Don’t Know
I guess at least on the newer computers, you might find a Blue Ray burner bundled with it. But I still don't have a Blue Ray burner yet. Oh well. I don't either, and I'm not that interested in owning one. Most of the early CD-ROMs I burned have gone bad, and some of the DVDs I burned have too. I do...

Right now it's just available from my site. I'm selling it that way right now because Amazon takes 30% of the sale price, on top of PayPal's cut.

Re: Commodork/Commodorkier to appear on StoryBundle
Aw, thanks man! I think this might be the first official feedback I got from the book. I'm glad the "growth" aspect came through. I have been defending the stories in Commodork for 15 years now. I think a lot of people had trouble separating the 30-year-old author from the 15-year-young mi...

Re: Those Kids Just Don’t Know
Hey Artisian, just a head's up -- I am having to edit your posts because the way you are manually pasting other people's text (generally mine) into your posts makes it very confusing as to what you have typed and what you have cut/pasted from other posts. If you want to quote someone else's post, it...

Re: Sprite Castle 041: Dig Dug
As far as I can tell, the whole purpose of the BMC64 project is to get perfect scrolling and frame rates in both PAL and NTSC video modes. I agree that TheC64 isn't 100% accurate. I can only assume that once I get my Ultimate all wired up and ready to go, all these other solutions will become moot. ...

I don't know about my parents, but I was very much afraid that would happen. In fact, as a result of the Boss BBS bust, my friend Jeff got a call from the FBI. I don't want to say too much more because the entire story is in Commodorkier!

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/43/83/dd/4383dd806fc9f919bdebda42689d0b16.gif I used to spend a looooot of time worrying about people pirating my books. Re: Commodork/Commodorkier to appear on StoryBundle
Yes, it was a very hectic time. During that time, I had taken a position at work where I was... how should I put this... underutilized. If I went offline for an hour or two, nobody seemed to notice. Life's funny that way, sometimes things just work out. I'm not entirely sure where you're pulling all...
