Wow, I saw the charts showing viewship length and such. I had no idea YouTube was so minutely detailed in their metrics.

Re: BLOG: Morgan’s Senior Prom

I missed my prom. Actually I skipped it, there was no way I could rent a tux and pay the $25 ticket price. I didn't have anyone to go with anyway so I don't think I missed out on anything. Additionally, they had the Juniors included because our class couldn't raise enough money alone.

Just doing projects by yourself is daunting enough, filming the process must be overwhelming. What happens if you miss a 'shot', do you do another take?

Re: PODCAST: YDKF Episode 225: eCoder Ring

A long time ago I had this idea to replace letters with colors and make it into a picture. I could send the 8-bit picture to someone who could then decode the bits back into the message. Anyone intercepting the message would only see a picture and wouldn't even know it was a secret message. Of cours...

Re: PODCAST: Rando Rob 0099 – Special Bulletin (VHS)

I remember one of my house mates waking me up and saying that we just lost South Carolina because of terrorism. He was stoned immaculate and watching this on late night tv and he totally believed it. I watched the news the next day and there was nothing at all. That's how I learned about this movie,...

There used to be a radio station in Rochester that featured a comedy hour on Sunday nights. They would play stand up comedy clips and Cheech and Chong bits for an hour and follow that with the Dr. Demento show. I would tape that stuff like there was no tomorrow, then play it back all week long. It's...

Re: PODCAST: Throwback Reviews 20221125: A Christmas Story Christmas

Thank you for this review, it's better than me actually watching the movie. The side stories down memory lane make the episodes a zillion times better. I'm always nodding my head when you talk about stuff like: "remember those blue roll-up sleds?" or a sledding hill that was locally known ...

Re: BLOG: Yukon Cinema 5 Demolished (The Goonies Lied to Me)

I miss the cool seats at our local planetarium. When I was in grade school the coolest thing was a field trip to the planetarium. The seats could fully recline, swivel and they had speakers in the headrests. This was futuristic in 1973. They took them out and put in regular theater seats when they s...

I always wondered how to make the smoke screen and oil slick work. Never ever thought of the second joystick button. I would frantically hit keyboard buttons while trying to stay alive (and usually fail) when I needed those rear weapons. Then it was always about trying to outrun everything which doe...

The point and click interface was a deal breaker for me when I tried this. It was one of those two-minutes-and-reset-the-C64 games. I liked the typing part even if it took longer and didn't have any spellcheck.

I don't get the mind-set for wanting to live like that. I saw a few of these back when I was going to Grateful Dead shows. People would just follow the band from city to city in these little vans and live in the parking lots. Some of them would set up tents and sell jewelry and stuff. I thought they...

What did you think of Richie's Plank Experience? My Friend has the Oculous and it's a lot of fun. One of the things that should be implemented is the ability to code programs from within the headset. Right now it's a console but it should be a full-fledged virtual computer. Everyone could write, or ...

Re: PODCAST: Throwback Reviews 20211211: 8-Bit Christmas

I was slightly on the fence about watching this. Now I'm glad I didn't because I dislike movies that shove nostalgia down your throat. Ready Player One did it and so did Dark Shadows. Having a movie set in a particular era is fine but please don't overdo it just for the sake of 'remember this?' I ge...

I never really watched many documentaries. The ones I have watched were mostly music related. Two docs that I can recommend are :Crossfire Hurricane, a Rolling Stones documentary and The History Of The Eagles, Part 1. As an honorable mention I will throw in Echo In The Canyon, it's about the Sixties...

There was a meme going around about Ferris Bueller.

When you're 18 you identify with Ferris.
When you're 22 you identify with Cameron.
When you're 45 you identify with Rooney.

My favorite cereal of all time was Buc-wheats. Good stuff but you could get raw gums by the end of Super Friends

It's shows like this that bring back all the forgotten memories! I remember cheating at Clue by watching where the other players checked off their cards. If they marked near the bottom of their sheet I knew it was a room card they had looked at, the top of the sheet was a person and the middle was a...
