Hey Rob, I tried to post a comment on your blog page but got some sort of error message. Anyway, the perfect place to upload it is MySpleen!

Throwback reviews?

Just wondering if you guys are taking a break? You guys were releasing your Movies of the Year of the 1980s reviews at a rate of one per month this year, but then paused after 1983. Everything OK? Just needed a brief break? Looking forward to 1984, a huge year (that and 1989).

Re: BLOG: Living that RV Life!

Your experience seems mixed, but hopefully you'll remember the fun parts more. I've never rented or driven an RV. My version of that was packing up my trunk with my two-person tent and camping equipment, and away I'd go. I remember the weekend back in the summer of 1999 when I went up to Folklore Vi...

Re: PODCAST: Sprite Castle 077: Boulder Dash

OK, I am super excited for this one. When I first got my C64 in April 1988, Boulder Dash II was on one of the disks that came with it. I played the hell out of that game that summer and it's still one of my all-time faves. And I had the Epyx 500 XJ joystick to boot, which is perfect for it. One of t...

Re: BLOG: I Fell Down in Washington DC

Immediately the first thing that popped into my head when I read that was my concern for you and hope that you were/are feeling OK. The very second thing was that I wondered how many other people that exact same thing has happened to. I'm thinking it might be sort of a common occurrence. Unnecessari...

Re: PODCAST: YDKF Episode 208: Breakfast Cereal

I am behind on my podcasts but that will change once I get my stereo back in my new car next week and I can listen to my thumb drive again. I've got a road trip to Cedar Rapids coming up in a couple weeks and that should catch me up on all of these fine podcasts. Looking forward to this one in parti...

Re: PODCAST: Sprite Castle 060: Ballblazer

The timing for this episode is really interesting. Do you watch Jeremy Parish's videos? He released his latest NES Works Gaiden video the day before yours, featuring Ballblazer for the Atari 7800. There's just something in the air. I remember when I got Ballblazer for the Atari 5200. It was the very...

So I've been getting caught up on my podcasts, and I'm getting there. I just listened to this episode yesterday and was delighted to hear Kyrie at the end. Then today, I just listened to The Castles of Dr. Creep episode of Sprite Castle and you identified that piece of music and said you were bringi...

Re: YDKF Episode 199: McDonald’s

My favorite McDonald's sandwich ever was the Cheddar Melt. I think I was a junior or senior in high school when it debuted. I loved it so much but it didn't stick around. I also really loved the four different Arch Deluxe varieties (hamburger, grilled chicken, breaded chicken, fish fillet). That was...

Well I'll be darned, isn't the timing something? Had I searched a week or so ago, I might have turned up empty. I guarantee you that if I hadn't been so foolish as to loan out that pamphlet, that I would still have it in mint condition today, as I have every other video game-related piece of literat...

Still getting caught up on all my podcasts (I basically have five different podcasts on which I've fallen behind) and just listened to this one a day or so ago. Yeah, same here with CLUE Magazine. I would love to digitally archive it for posterity. I designed and laid it out, wrote most of the articles, and did some artwork for it. It was a high point in my life.

Re: YDKF Episode 192: In-Tune Magazine

I finally just listened to this episode today. I’d fallen behind in my podcasts and have been listening to get caught back up. I really enjoyed this episode. It resonated with me, because I had a somewhat similar experience once. Back in college, I was the editor of our university newspaper’s biweek...

Re: YDKF Episode 195: Shelves

Just finished listening to this episode, great job as usual. Always nice to be name-checked in an episode! Although I must point out that in my head, I've always pronounced "k8track" with three syllables (k-8-track) rather than two (kate-track), which, when I hear it, could be the nickname...
